Leave of Absence Requests and Grant Opportunities
LEAVE OF ABSENCE REQUESTS:终身, 终身职位的, PEAR and continuing faculty members who wish to request a sabbatical or other leave of absence For all or part of the academic year 2025-2026 should do so by 10月ober 1, 2024. Guidelines For expectations while on a leave and Forms are available on the 教务长’s website.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS: 教师 members are invited to submit proposals For support through several different funds. Some of these opportunities have rolling deadlines, but the following have a 9月tember 13, 2024 截止日期:
- 教师 development endowment (FDE) grants
- Large FDE grants (up to one term’s salary) – Support For scholarship, 研究, and 有创意的 activity in any field For tenured, 终身职位的 and PEAR faculty.
- Small FDE grants For the same purposes as the large.
- Targeted Opportunity Grants – Course release(s), 助学金, or expenses For scholarly, 有创意的, or pedagogical work that falls outside the more traditional large FDE or small grants.
- Joan Hanson Endowed Fund For 教师 Development and Teaching in Ethics – Support For 研究 or teaching in ethics, broadly construed.
EXTERNALLY FUNDED GRANTS. You should also be thinking about applying For external grants to support your work. Many deadlines For 2025-2026 will be in 9月tember or 10月ober. The 菲律宾十大彩票平台 教师 Grants Committee will give preference For large FDE grants to faculty who have applied For appropriate external funding. International Film Forum: 2024-25 Academic Year Proposals
The International Film Forum cordially invites you to submit proposals/requests For film screenings and potential colloquiums For the 2024-2025 academic year.
The International Film Forum is a group dedicated to the viewing and studying of Foreign films, developed through a partnership between the 菲律宾十大彩票平台 departments of arts, cinema and media studies, 和语言. On 我的days at 7:00 pm, we welcome students, 教育工作者, and members of the community to join us at the Weitz Center For screenings of Foreign films. 此外, we have established connections between screenings and various campus classes, allowing instructors to incorporate these events into their curricula. Additionally, we facilitate colloquiums with film directors and co-sponsor a range of film festivals.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, we screened 20 films and hosted insightful discussions with 5 directors. We are excited to collaborate with you to find innovative ways to integrate films into your courses and enrich the educational experience.
For fall term 2024 screenings, we invite you to submit a proposal by August 5, 2024, to allow us ample time For scheduling. If you are ready to explore potential avenues For collaboration For winter or spring terms, please feel free to reach out to us at your convenience.
